school, spring, and sore feet

Keith has traded in his brush for a couple of weeks and is hitting the books instead. He has decided to take the Builder's License Training course so he can apply for a builder's license. He's been thinking about doing this for awhile and found a class that was offered right here in Holland. Decided now would be the time to do it before things start to (hopefully) get really busy in spring/summer. The 60 hour course is required before he can actually apply for the license. After they accept his application he will then need to take a big test. He says it's a ton of information to take in but he's learning a lot. Hopefully the time, work, and money (the class cost $800!) will pay off in the long run and put him a step above the other painters out there.

Obviously everyone has seen the priceless video on Jen's Blog revealing baby girl #3. Here is a quick picture I snapped before the sex was revealed. (Mace looks thrilled). The party was so fun and EXCITING. It was almost like being in the room (seriously!) when Kelsey opened up that package...

So a couple of weeks ago I decided to take a jog. I work out on a pretty regular basis but am not a huge runner. But the weather was nice, I had on a new pair of tennis shoes, had my ipod blasting, and was feeling really good so I kept going. All of the way until I got to Big Red.I was so proud of myself. Decided I might as well run back home too (I took a couple of breaks to walk for a few minutes). By the time I got home my legs and feet were pretty sore but I didn't think much of it. Until Sunday morning when I couldn't even get out of bed! Ugh...terrible. My feet had NEVER hurt like this before. I actually cried. I still don't know what exactly I did to myself but for the past 2 weeks I have been putting ice packs on my feet when I wake up and when I come home from work and popping Ibuprofen like candy, (and walking around like an old lady!) I think they are slowly starting to get better but I learned my lesson and will take it a little easier on my next romp...

Here is Dolly decked out for St. Patty's day in "her" chair with her puppy :)

A few Sundays ago (before my run) Keith and I went out to the Saugatuck Dunes to walk the trails and check out the Lake. Pretty!

We've already had 2 dutch dance practices (not so nice for the feet!) and will be dancing for the first time on May 1 already! Our group is the same as it was last year and we have a lot of fun together. Can't wait for the dancing, parades, and FOOD that comes along with Tulip Time :)

And who needs to go south for Spring Break when you've got a forecast like this for the week ahead?!

Wonderful post, Brenda! I agree, what a great idea that Keith is taking the class! You never know what might come of that. Your poor feet! It was great that you had such a nice run, but sometimes those sore muscles and aches and pains don't show up until the next day, when it's too late! Looks like Rachel and Katie may be home for Easter next week. Will know soon. Will your dutch dance group be dancing on the same corner as last year? If so, then Uncle Scott and I will know where to find you. We will have a booth at the art fair again, but this time we're halfway down the block on 12 St., hearing toward the library.

Do you think the new tennis shoes might have been the problem? I hope your feet feel better! You kinda take them for granted until they bother you! Can't wait to see you all dance at Tulip Time again!!

Hi,
Stumbled on your blog and loved reading about tulip time and Nashville trip, as my husband and I love Nashville.
