weekend update

Had a nice breakfast at DeBoer Bros. this morning with Uncle Jim and Aunt Rachel, Uncle Scott and Aunt Jean (who is looking fab 23 lbs. lighter!), Dad, Grandpa, and Keith. Keith and I both got the Oma omelet. It had asparagus, roasted red peppers, mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes, and some fancy cheese that I can't remember the name of. Very delicious! I forgot to take out my camera but I know Aunt Jean snapped a few which I'm sure she'll post later :)

Keith went mountain biking with his friend Travis after breakfast. Thanks dad for letting him use your bike. He had fun and came home in 1 piece. While he was biking I hit up some 2nd hand stores. As good as it feels to fit into smaller clothes, it's expensive! I can't believe all of the great things I found at thrift stores. Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Gap, Old Navy, Express, etc. I didn't pay more than $3.99 for anything today!

I needed to pick up a few things from Meijers after my bargain shopping. I was so thrilled to find the same Firefly sweet tea vodka I had at Phil's Bar is Saugatuck! It wasn't even on the shelf yet. I turned the corner and there it was in a box in front of me. Funny because we were just talking about it today at breakfast too. I think I'll enjoy some with the new Diet Sunkist sparkling lemonade I also found at Meijers.

I made these cupcake last week. The recipe is from the back of the Easter M&M bag. The recipe is supposed to be butterflies. I didn't have the black licorice so I couldn't make the antennas. They didn't look much like butterflies so I decided to make flowers instead. I brought them in to work the next day and a couple of people asked me if I was "making an announcement" (in our office when anyone is pregnant they announce it by bringing in pink and blue cupcakes or cookies). It annoyed me that they would even ask me this question. I told them I will wear a sign when my time comes. My announcement will definitely be loud and clear. BTW, we are still trying "naturally" on our own for the time being. So far no luck but we keep at it....

The game is tied at 14 as I finish this up. It would be so cool to see MSU go on and win (even if that means I won't win the bracket) :)

Now you have me thinking thrift stores and I want to hit up some. I like the picture of you with your exciting find at Meijers!

Your blog is always so colorful and cute. Not to mention informative! Everyone's doing so great with the weight loss. I'm impressed! I'm sorta stalled out at 30 lbs. The cupcakes looked delish. I'm drooling!

Go State :)...even though I don't care too much. But if I had to choose, I would definitely pick them to win. That's good of Keith to try something new with the mountain biking. Did he like it? And did you buy anything at Goodwill?

Keith really enjoyed the mountain biking. Wants to go again and of course thinks he needs to buy a brand new bike (not gonna happen!). Over the past couple of days I have gotten a good 15-20 items of new clothing from thrift stores. Great name brand finds!

OK, those cupcakes are adorable! Bren, seriously, your baking abilities are "top flight!" Another career path, if you ever need one....
