don't eat Dee Dee!

Jen dropped the girls off at my house around 9:00 this morning. Macey was afraid that Dolly was going to eat Kelsey when they first got out of the car. (Dolly was sniffing inside Kelsey's carrier). We reassured her that Kelsey would be safe. This was my first time watching both of them on my own and things went fine. Jen was only gone about 40 minutes though :) We hung out at my house for most of the morning and early afternoon. We made grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup for lunch. Macey was a big girl and wanted to take her nap in the "big girl" bed downstairs instead of the pac-n-play. She took a 2+ hour nap in it. I put some pillows next to the bed just in case! She had 3 teddy bears in the bed with her to keep her company (one that Grandma Nykerk had made). While Macey was napping, Jen and I finalized our camping plans at Sandy Pines for the weekend of June 20/21. We reserved 2 lots and are right next to a playground. We are going along with a few others couple and there will be 5 kids 2 and under. Should be exciting! It's nice to have something to look forward to. Let's home for good weather. When Macey woke up, we went to the Carter's outlet store. Jen got lots of cute stuff for the girls. We put in a frozen lasagna at my dad's house. After supper we played outside and went to visit great grandpa Nykerk. The weather was wonderful and it felt like a summer night. Keith meets with the Neighbothood Kids every wednesday night at church. Tonight they met at my Aunt Rachel's house to hang out and play soccer. I'm thrilled to report that the Tigers are winning 9-1 in the 5th inning! Here are some pictures from today, I took lots of them!

When the Tigers win, they really win, I guess they are tied now for bottom place with Cleveland. They will move up quickly the way they have been playing the last 3 games. I love the pictures, as always, especially of the one of her "shopping", that gal knows what she wants and what is HIP. I am glad to know that Dolly did not eat DeeDee, how cute that Macey was so protective of her. I am certain that Great Bumpa Nykerk was thrilled to see his girls, I am trying to figure out which Teddy Macey had that Grandma Nykerk made, there were several over the years, that is for sure...which reminds me, there are more baby chrocheted blankets she made for the great grandchildren up stairs in the bottom drawer in us girls old room. Jenny should go pick one out for Kelsey.

Hey....more GREAT pictures since I was here about 30 minutes ago!!! I love the one of Keith fixing Macey's hair, the one of Dolly by Kelsey as she sleeps, the one of Great Grandpa holding Kelsey and the one with all of the necklaces and bracelets on Macey's arms. We may have to go through some of Grandma Nykerk's old costume jewelry when I am there.....

Aunt Jean checking in - great fun to see all th pictures and hear of your day's activities - definitely reminds me of Grandma Nykerk and how she used to write in her journal each day - Brenda, you've inherited her love of keeping a family history - it's the little everyday things that make up a life, and you and Jen and the girls are making such wonderful memories together during your weekly get togethers. So looking forward to seeing all of you on Saturday!
