summer slipping by

Not sure if it's because we haven't had many days over 80 degrees or the fact that time just goes by faster and faster the older I get but it just doesn't seem like it should be August 5 already. Today was a perfect summer day...Since it's wednesday I had the day off. Went to the Farmer's Market and then had coffee and breakfast on the deck while reading the Holland Sentinel "online". I then headed out to Hidden Ridge RV park in Shelbyville to spend the day with Jen and Jason and girls who were camping with Jason's family. We spent most of our time by the pool. Came home and had supper outside using many of the goodies I got at the Farmer's Market. Went to the 1st Church softball game who were playing in the 2nd round of playoffs. NOT a good game. They lost 15-0 in 4 innings. Even Uncle Jim played :) It was a good effort....had fun watching them this summer and visiting with Aunt Jean and Rachel in the bleachers. Looking forward to next year. Maybe we can convince Keith to play...? He's asleep on the couch now already (it's not even 9:00! long day I guess....) I was hoping to take a drive out to the beach for the sunset and some ice cream. Maybe I will try and wake him up....

So proud of Macey for jumping in the deep end! Big improvement from last summer!

Went to White House Bistro last friday. One of our favorite Saugatuck spots. I snapped the picture a little too early here. We ordered Sagnaki for an appetizer. They pour bourbon over cheese and light it on fire "Opa!" So good...

A pretty hot air balloon flew over our house earlier this week. Id LOVE to ride in one.

I'm glad you got some pictures of us camping since I forgot my camera. Thanks for visiting us! The day went too fast that's for sure.

Sounds like it's probably just as well that we didn't make the game on Wednesday. Too bad, but great year overall! Bren - If you decide to go up in a hot air balloon - give me a call - I've always had a dream to do that!
