hanging on to summer

I actually felt like I did quite a bit today (my day off). Usually when I have a day off it flies by and I feel like I didn't get done everything I wanted. Keith scheduled an appointment with a financial advisor (there were actual 3 people we met with) for this morning. I was not very excited about going but told him I would go "for him". I'm actually kinda glad he set this up. Keith is still learning the ropes of running a business and I am clueless when it comes to financial stuff. I honestly don't even know exactly what an IRA or mutual fund is, what profit sharing means, or how retirement planning works. It was very informative (some of it went over my head). I think we will continue to meet with them every 6 months. They will help direct us with paying off debt, putting money away into savings, retirement and estate planning (which seems WAY early to start talking about but I guess now is the time), etc. After the meeting I went to the Farmer's Market. I love it. Lots of really good peaches and apples are just starting....I came home and cut the grass. I am kind of proud of the fact that this summer I have been the one in charge of the cutting and watering of the yard. I kind of enjoy it. I think it looks quite good and Keith agrees. At first I didn't even know how to use a lawnmower and now I am a pro. I went to Laketown Beach for a couple of hours after cutting the grass. I'm afraid it might be one of the last beach outing for the summer. I am trying to soak up the sun while I can! I finished reading "The No.1 Ladies Detective Agency" which I must admit I wasn't crazy about. Not enough excitement or drama for me. After the beach I went out in search of a sombrero for Lisa. She is having a Fiesta themed birthday party this weekend. I was happy to find a nice one at my first stop American Party. Then I stopped for some groceries. Keith is still working so I will start dinner in a little bit. I think we will have chicken on the grill tonight. Well, that was my day so far. I'm really excited for this upcoming LONG weekend. I know I will get to see JJ and MK ( I missed them today!) and maybe Ron too. For those who don't know, Ron = Elizabeth. Silly college nick name that stuck.. :)

I love the farmers market too. The peaches and blueberries have been great. It does feel good when you accomplish alot on a day off.

YUM! Your market finds make for a gorgeous picture! Bren - like Aunt Carol says, you could be a food stylist for Martha! I especially love the yellow flowers - are those sunflowers? I commend you for the yardwork. Not my cup of tea, but thankfully Uncle Scott doesn't mind doing ours, and I get to enjoy it! Looking forward to the weekend....
